Christmas in Broken Bow, OK

The six of us spent Christmas in a cabin in southeastern Oklahoma. We had plenty of time to play, eat, swim, explore, and visit with each other. It was our favorite Christmas ever!
With all the buttons to control functions on the hot tub, Taylor wanted to know where the button was to make it deeper.

I would say that Aidy's first Christmas was a lucrative one!



The kids had their first piano recital on Dec 20. Lydia played Up on the House Top, Taylor played Jingle Bells, and Melissa played a few primary Christmas songs.

With the temple nearly two hours away, we got creative and did a kid swap so we could attend. These are the 10 swapped kids at Chuck E Cheese at 10 pm (and yes, it was a school night).

I filled up the van for $30 yesterday! Gotta love Oklahoma.

Scorpions, Hail, & the Simple Life

I can't believe it is already October. Time sure flys here in Lawton. We have lived in the great state of Oklahoma for more than 2 months. Now to the "developments" of the last week (or so). Kirk found a second scorpion inside our home. According to more experienced Oklahomans, the lighter the scorpion the more poisonous. Too bad the 2 we found were so light you could hardly see them on the carpet!




We had our first hail storm. Lydia and Taylor thought it was cool how high they bounced when they hit the ground. Paige was glad the car was parked in the garage.



Paige and Aidy spent the weekend in Yucaipa visiting family. Terissa, TJ, and Steven with Aidy.


The kids are enjoying the simple life. Hours of fun can be had with a hose and a bucket! Check back soon for pictures of the Dahlkes in costume!
